Our Story

Outlandish was founded in 2020 with a simple belief:

the campervan industry needed shaking up.

Too many vans looked the same, felt the same, and were built the same.

We set out to change that - with ideas brave enough to challenge convention, and craftsmanship precise enough to make them real.

Outlandish was brought to life by Max McMurdo.

Dr of sustainable design, TV presenter, small space creator and a lifelong challenger of the ordinary.

In 2020 he decided to focus his attention of the world of camper vans.

He saw an industry repeating itself, he saw customers hungry for originality.
And he saw endless potential inside the blank canvas of a van.

So Outlandish Campers was born.
